Wk #80: E I G H T E E N // Heart throbs and Righteous Yearnings

Where has the time gone? This week I have been overwhelmed with precious memories and reflections as I have pondered the last 18 months of my mission! I still feel like I'm in my second transfer, but time has proven otherwise.

To celebrate my 18 month mark, we got to help at a nursing home! They were having an earth day celebration, and boy...do I love the elderly! They have some of the most tender hearts. I could have stayed there all day! But we couldn't, so I took a balloon home instead. ;) Happy Earth Day/ Eighteen months!!!

This week flew by. We've been working hard and have started to see the area really pick up! We had some awesome service opportunities this week, and in the midst of that I got SUNBURNED! bring on the Florida sun!

We were fed SO MUCH this week. Almost everyday. It's definitely a huge change from Tallahassee! Luckily there are a lot of military families here, so it's not "southern" food. It's all pretty healthy.

I was SO excited this week because I got the BEST compliment EVER! Last night after dinner at the Fannin's, we walked over to our investigators house to check up on her. She ended up not being home, so we walked over to a group of people sitting on their front lawns. It was a group of adults with beers in their hands, and we started chattin it up with them. We told them we were from Utah and California and the lady looked at me and said, "utah?! I thought people there were mean! You act like one of us! You're a true southerner!" UM. I could have died and gone to heaven! I'M FROM THE SOUTH YA'LL!!! It was awesome!

Our ward had a luau this weekend, and we had one of our investigator families there, and a family of non members that one of our less actives invited. It was so much fun! And the food was way too good. The Relief Society did a fantastic job!

I also got to speak in Sacrament meeting again on Repentance and Forgiveness, and play the piano for a musical number while the other missionaries sang. It was a good Sunday. :)

We had some great, great lessons this week, and we have so many people becoming reactivated. The spirit has touched so many people's hearts so strongly this week. I am SO grateful for that! I have been praying so hard for these people.

As I was reading in Jesus the Christ this week, I came across a paragraph that really struck my heart. Elder Talmage said, "Prayer is made up of heart throbs and the righteous yearnings of the soul, of supplication based on the realization of need, of contrition and pure desire... God without our prayers would be God; but we without prayer cannot be admitted to the kingdom of God."

Heart throbs and righteous yearnings. How true that is! I am grateful for a Heavenly Father that hears the pray of my heart when words can't express my concerns or my joy.

I have such a strong testimony of this gospel. Prayer is how we can truly know for ourselves all things.

I love you all SO MUCH!!!!

Love,
